Biography

Lucas Hernandez was born on 14 February 1996 in Marseille, but soon moved to Spain with his brother Théo and their mother. He began his career at Rayo Majadahonda at the age of nine. Two years later, he joined Atlético de Madrid’s academy, where he developed before making his professional debut in 2014.

He quickly established himself in the Madrid squad and won the 2018 Europa League against Olympique de Marseille, his first major trophy. A few months later, he lifted the UEFA Super Cup with the Colchoneros, before becoming world champion with France, playing a central role in their second star. With Les Bleus, he added another major honour in 2021 with a first Nations League title.

Transferred to Bayern Munich in 2019, Lucas Hernandez won every possible trophy in 2020: the league, German Cup, German Super Cup, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. After three more Bundesliga titles in 2021, 2022 and 2023, the France international joined Paris Saint-Germain during the summer 2023 transfer window.

Since arriving in Paris, the full-back has helped write the finest chapter in the history of the capital club. A winner of 11 trophies, Lucas Hernandez has shone on the domestic stage, with three French league titles, three Trophées des Champions and a Coupe de France, as well as on the European stage, helping Paris win its first two Champions League titles, the 2025 UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup a few months later.
