France beaten by England despite goals from Barcola and Dembélé

The French national team, featuring Paris Saint-Germain players Lucas Hernandez, Warren Zaïre-Emery, Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué lost 4–6 to England on Saturday 18 July at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, USA, in the third-place play-off of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Warren Zaïre-Emery and Désiré Doué were in the starting line-up. Coming on at half-time, Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembélé scored their third and sixth goals respectively in the competition, but were unable to prevent Les Bleus’ defeat, meaning they finish the tournament just off the podium.
