A talented young Paris Saint-Germain team has once again shone in Munich. Coached by Germain Borg, the capital club's U15 boys showed their authority last week to win the Elite Cup, a high-quality tournament that pitted them against their counterparts from seven other prestigious European clubs: Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Porto, Galatasaray and Real Sociedad.
Les Parisiens immediately showed their diligence and their efficiency in their opening game of the tournament, as they beat Galatasaray 4-1 with goals from Alkaly Condé, Harris Abloh, Yanis Malki and Hermance Mbongo.
Their second match saw them continue this momentum with a 1-0 victory over Chelsea thanks to Messie Bolou's goal from a Kenzo Kana Biyik assist.
Then, against hosts Bayern, Les Rouge et Bleu earned themselves an impressive 2-1 triumph, with the aforementioned Abloh as well as Mohamed Namory getting on the scoresheet while Zayd Belarbi bagged both assists.
In the quarter-finals, Paris brushed Liverpool aside, with Mbongo and Bolou scoring in a 2-0 win.
Then, in the semi-finals, it was Condé's and Malki's goals that helped Les Titis to a 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad.
The climax would come in the tournament's final, however, as Paris Saint-Germain recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Porto. Having been assisted by both Namory and Condé, eventual man of the match Bolou notched up a brace before Belarbi put the icing on the cake by finding the back of the net from Myron Tchatcha's pass.
Beyond the goalscorers, though, it was the entire squad of 18 players – Hugo Olmeta, Nicko Buan, Mamadou Cissé, Harris Abloh, Hermance Mbongo, Claude Tsamoukounou, Nolan Maboya, Yoann Razafimbahoaka, Thydiane Traoré, Alexandru Ciobanu, Myron Tchatcha, Kenzo Kana Biyik, Zayd Belarbi, Mohamed Namory, Messie Bolou, Alkaly Condé, Warren Laymard and Yanis Malki – that contributed to this standout success, thereby illustrating the quality of Paris's academy and its international standing once more.
