Paris Saint-Germain continues to make history in French football. With its latest Ligue 1 title, the capital club has secured its 14th French league title, further cementing its status as the leading force in French football.
Les Rouge et Bleu have also secured a fifth consecutive title, a feat previously achieved only by Olympique Lyonnais, who won seven titles in a row between 2002 and 2008. Since the 2012–13 season, Paris have won 12 league titles; only FC Bayern Munich have done better across Europe’s top five leagues over that period.
This dominance was once again evident in the second half of the season: having picked up 37 points, the capital club is on a relentless run, with at least six more points than any other team in the league.
Paris’s key attacking players continue to impress week after week. Having scored four goals in his last four league matches, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is continuing his run of form as the season draws to a close.
The Georgian also has a particularly effective partnership with Ousmane Dembélé, with 25% of his goals in Ligue 1 coming from assists provided by the French international.
Assisting once again, Ousmane Dembélé has also posted some remarkable statistics in 2026. With 13 goal contributions in the league this calendar year (8 goals and 5 assists), no other player has done better in the top flight, and only Endrick (Olympique Lyonnais) has provided more assists in Ligue 1 over the same period.
On Wednesday evening against RC Lens, Matvey Safonov put in a top-class performance. The Parisian goalkeeper made no fewer than eight saves during the match, a rare feat among the Rouge et Bleu’s goalkeepers. Only Gianluigi Donnarumma against Olympique de Marseille in March 2024 (10 saves) and Keylor Navas against Stade Rennais FC in May 2021 (9 saves) have made more in the last fifteen years.
On the touchline, Luis Enrique is also continuing to make his mark on the club’s history. The Spanish manager has secured his third league title with Paris, equalling the club record for a Parisian manager. With 11 trophies now to his name across all competitions, he has also reached the top of the list of Paris Saint-Germain’s most successful managers.
