Biography

Born in Tbilisi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia developed in Georgia, where his promise attracted the attention of several major Russian clubs. He made his breakthrough at Rubin Kazan, where he played for three seasons between 2019 and 2022. Spotted by Napoli, he moved to Italy in summer 2022 and was outstanding from his first season. Named Serie A Player of the Year, he helped the club win its first Scudetto in more than 30 years.

After two-and-a-half seasons at the highest level, he crossed the Alps and joined Paris Saint-Germain in January 2025. A few months later, he started and scored in the Champions League final against Inter Milan (5-0), helping his new club win a historic maiden European title. In his first full season, the Georgian was once again essential, enjoying a historic European campaign with 10 goals and six assists.

On 30 May 2026, he won another European crown, winning the penalty that led to the equaliser against Arsenal (1-1 a.e.t., 4-3 pens.). He was subsequently named the best player of the 2025-2026 Champions League. The first Georgian player in the club’s history, he is a leading figure for his national team and played a major role in Georgia’s first qualification for a major tournament at Euro 2024. In 2026, he reached 50 caps for Georgia.
