Born on 9 September 1997 in Giza, Egypt, Yahia Omar began playing handball for Zamalek in 2016, winning three African Champions League titles with the club. Loaned to Veszprém for two seasons from 2019, he impressed in Hungary and was signed permanently in the summer of 2021.
The Egypt international quickly became a key member of the Hungarian side and contributed to the team’s domestic success. After six seasons in Hungary, he joined Paris Saint-Germain Handball in the summer of 2024.
Since arriving in the French capital, he has helped the Rouge & Bleu win two French league titles and finished as Paris Saint-Germain’s leading league scorer in 2025-26 with 162 goals.
