Mateo Maraš began his professional career in his home town of Split (Croatia), signing for RK Balic-Metlicic in 2018. Two years later, the 23-year-old right-back headed to Northern Macedonia to sign for Eurofarm Pelister and then, in 2022, he signed for MOL Tatabanya KC in Hungary.
With the Croatian national team, the Paris-bound player earned his first cap in April 2021, in a match against Slovakia, where he scored four goals. He went on to play in the European Championship the following year, the World Championship in 2023 and the Euro again in 2024, scoring nine times.
