Biography

Born on 17 December 2000, Mateo Maraš began his professional career in his home city of Split, Croatia, signing for RK Balic-Metlicic in 2018. Two years later, the right-back continued his development in North Macedonia when he joined Eurofarm Pelister on loan.

After making a decisive impact in the EHF European League, he joined the Bitola-based club permanently in spring 2021. Over time, the young right-back became an essential player and attracted interest from across Europe. He ultimately continued his career in Hungary with MOL Tatabanya from the summer of 2022. Having accumulated further European League and domestic experience with the likes of Veszprém and Szeged, he took another major step in 2025 by joining Paris Saint-Germain Handball.

In his first season, he helped the capital club win the league title. A Croatia international since 2021, Mateo is now a reliable option in Dagur Sigurðsson’s rotation having been part of Croatia’s run to the 2025 World Championship final and their bronze-medal campaign at EHF EURO 2026.
