Warren, you've reached the 100-league game milestone with Paris Saint-Germain (at 19 years and 321 days vs Auxerre, the third-youngest player to achieve it)! What does that number mean to you?
"I'm proud, it shows the faith the coach, the President and Luis Campos have in all young players. It also shows that the club as a whole has confidence in its young players and counts on us. I'm proud to have played 100 games and I hope there will be many more. I'm enjoying it and I hope to continue in the same vein."
Speaking of young players...you're now a role model for all the Titis!
"Without doing it on purpose! I remember when I arrived there was Presko (Presnel Kimpembe) who was always there to give you advice or even just to see what he does, him and the others. I think that it's something that young players should do, always give their all, watch and learn. I think that it's the best thing. Sometimes, you don't need to speak to everyone. You learn just by watching. That's what I've tried to do as much as possible since I got here."
Is there one game that stands out?
"Every game, every trophy won is great. We enjoy playing as a team, together, with the coach's philosophy. It's fantastic for everyone. We have created a real group, a real team. I think that above all we're a collective, a family, and it's amazing. We enjoy playing together."
"There are people who think it's easy, that we always have to win 3-0 or 4-0, but that's never the case. We always have to give our all, there are no easy games."
For your 101st game in Ligue 1, things weren't easy against Strasbourg…
"There are people who think it's easy, that we always have to win 3-0 or 4-0, but that's never the case. We always have to give our all, there are no easy games. The intensity is always high, a lot of challenges, and it's never easy to win against Strasbourg away or elsewhere. I think what we did last year or again this year is incredible. You can't just take it for granted, because it's always difficult to win every game."
You've played every competitive game this season (33 matches, no player born in 2006 or after has matched that in Europe's top 5 leagues), and you started your 27th successive competitive game at the Meinau! How do you prepare yourself?
"I always prepare myself in the same way. I always try to play games with as much energy as possible, with as much intensity as possible. I think that's what I lacked a bit last season: intensity in my runs, impact in my challenges. I have managed to analyse that and I have got back that confidence now. I think that makes all the difference for me. I really enjoy being on the pitch and I try to approach every game in the same way, without asking myself questions and also recovering well. We also have the best training centre, the best physios...I don't feel tired for the moment and I hope that will continue and that I'll play as many games as possible."
"The coach demands the best of me and is never satisfied. He's always behind everyone! He's just an extraordinary coach who never has enough, who wants the best from everyone and the best version of each player in each position."
You have played in a number of positions. Is that a plus for you?
"Yes, it's a strength. You have to be able to play in every position. I think it's a plus for me and also for the team to have a player who can play anywhere and on whom you can count. For me, regardless of the post, as long as I'm playing, I'm happy! It's great to help the team, whatever the position."
You have played at right-back recently. What have you learned?
"I have learned to get in line with the rest of the defence, to have the right tempo in my pressing because our right-back often goes out to the opposition left-back. It has also helped me to work on my cardio because it's different to when you play in midfield. In terms of kilometres run, it's about the same, but the runs are of higher intensity and I think it has done me good. When I play in midfield, it will also help me to put in more intensity and get on the ball more."
"The Classique? As a Titi, it's always different! But my usual routine won't change for the game. Of course we all want to win whether it be us the players, the club, the fans…"
2559 touches, 155 possession regains, 119 duels won, 32 successful tackles this season...you're among the players with the best stats in these categories. Luis Enrique has also praised you recently calling you, "a special player, different..."
"That's the coach! He has always been there for the players. I remember that when it was a little bit more difficult last year, he didn't give up on me, was behind me, gave me advice. Now, I'm confident, I'm good and he's behind me. He asks the best of myself and is never satisfied. He is always behind everyone! He's just an extraordinary coach who never has enough, who wants the best from everyone and the best version of each player in each position. The fact he talks about me like that makes me happy and I try to pay him back on the pitch for everything he gives me and always give the best of myself."
There are some big games coming up, starting with the Classique. How do you approach the game?
"The Classique? As a Titi, it's always different! But my usual routine won't change for the game. Of course we all want to win whether it be us the players, the club, the fans…I know they'll be there, really up for it, and we'll try to do the same on the pitch and give everything to win. That's the goal. It's always difficult to play against them, but at the Parc, with our fans behind us, it'll be different and we'll do everything to win."
