With the Egyptian national team, Yahia Omar has enjoyed remarkable continental success, winning four African Championship gold medals (2020, 2022, 2024 and 2026). He was also named the tournament's Most Valuable Player in 2022, 2024 and 2026, reinforcing his status as one of the leaders of the Pharaohs. In 2021, he helped Egypt achieve a historic fourth-place finish at the Tokyo Olympic Games, where he was named Best Right Back of the tournament after scoring 38 goals. He currently has 127 caps and 350 goals for his country.
Since arriving at Paris Saint-Germain Handball in the summer of 2024, Yahia Omar has quickly established himself as a key figure within the Parisian squad. Thanks to his power, shooting ability and capacity to make the difference in decisive moments, the Egyptian right back has become one of the leading players in his position on the European stage. His impact and consistency played a major role in the Club's French Championship triumph during the 2024–2025 and 2026-2026 seasons, confirming his importance to Paris Saint-Germain Handball's ambitions both domestically and in the EHF Champions League.
