Since joining the Club in 2015, Luka Karabatic has established himself as a key figure at Paris Saint-Germain Handball. The most capped player in the Club's history, he has embodied the values of commitment, high standards and loyalty that have accompanied the development of the Parisian project at the highest level for more than a decade.
A pillar of the team thanks to his defensive steel, his intelligence and his selflessness, Luka Karabatic has contributed greatly to the Club's many national and European successes. His leadership and exemplary behaviour make him a role model for the entire squad, both on and off the court.
A French international for more than ten years, Luka Karabatic has contributed to the successes of the French national team, with which he won the Olympic title in 2020 and several international medals. In January 2024, he ended his international career in order to devote himself fully to the end of his professional club career with Paris Saint-Germain Handball.
By extending their adventure until 2027, Paris Saint-Germain Handball and Luka Karabatic confirm their shared desire to continue a strong and unique history together. This final season will have a special significance: it will mark the end of an exceptional career at the highest level, playing for the club he has helped to shape.
"Luka fully embodies the identity and values of Paris Saint-Germain Handball. His career, his achievements and his longevity at the highest level are testament to his professionalism and unwavering commitment. We are proud to be able to support him and share this final stage of his career with him."
"Extending my contract with Paris Saint-Germain Handball has special significance at this stage of my career. Paris Saint-Germain Handball occupies a special place in my career and in my life. Knowing that I will be spending my final season here is a major source of motivation. I want to approach it with the same high standards and commitment, serving the team and the Club's ambitions."

About Paris Saint-Germain Handball
Founded in 1970, Paris Saint-Germain is France's most successful club and sports franchise and one of the best clubs on the European scene. Owned by Qatar Sports Investment (QSI) since 2011, the Club has achieved spectacular results both on and off the field of play. Led by its first team, Paris Saint-Germain is a multi-sport and forward-thinking club with teams in Esports, judo, women's football and handball.
Since its acquisition by QSI in 2012, the handball section has risen to become one of the greatest teams in European handball, winning 23 national titles and qualifying for the Final4 of the EHF Champions League six times in eight campaigns. Over the seasons, the team has included some of the world's best players, such as Mikkel Hansen, Luc Abalo, Thierry Omeyer, Daniel Narcisse and the Karabatic brothers, and has strengthened its ranks by developing young talent from its training centre. This strategy has enabled the club to set new records, such as a perfect season in the 2021-2022 championship, with thirty wins in as many matches.
Beyond the sporting aspect, Paris Saint-Germain as a whole is committed to creating a positive social impact through PSG For Communities, with the intention of allocating funds and offering initiatives dedicated to empowering disadvantaged young people.
