Just 24 hours after the club's U19 team won their championship against Clermont, the Paris Saint-Germain U17 were looking to become the first Rouge et Bleu team to win in this age category since 2017. Taking on Angers, our Titis were up against an in-form opponent who had finished above Olympique Lyonnais and defending champions Troyes in the regular season.
After a slow start, Les Parisiens played their way into the contest and Alkaly Conde saw his effort skim off the top of the crossbar (15'). A few minutes later Jordan Gervelain hit the post (21'). It was to be a case of third time lucky as Lorenzo Kana Biyik finally gave the capital club the lead from a tight angle (1-0, 24').
Les Rouge & Bleu led at the break, but the pace accellerated considerably after the restart. The Parisians played with real maturity as they looked to control the contest and as the minutes ticked by, Angers were obliged to take more and more risks to try and break down Vincent Ehouman's side. Paris operated on the counterattack and could have added a second with a more clinical finish (69').
Angers threw everything into the attack and Adam Mouak was forced to make a number of saves (76', 79'). As the battle ticked over into stoppage time, Les Parisiens dug deep and landed one final telling blow on the counter, finished off by Noha Tiéhi (2-0, 90+5').
The final whistle confirmed that our Titis are U17 champions of France for the fourth time after 2011, 2016 and 2017. This latest triumph follows hot on the heels of the U19s win over Clermont on Saturday - just weeks after the same U19s triumphed at the Stade de France in the final of the Coupe Gambardella, confirming that the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy continued to achieve excellence and has enjoyed a truly exceptional season.
