This week's narrow defeat to Plock in the Champions League (29-30) should not overshadow a major fact about Paris's season: Stefan Madsen's men are unbeatable in the league. Better still, they currently boast a perfect record of 11 wins in 11 games, and last weekend they claimed the scalp of Montpellier (34-31) in a clash they dominated from start to finish.
While the European results may be frustrating, the Parisians know they must maintain this form on the domestic stage. Firstly, to build confidence and continue to improve their teamwork, but also to stay clear of rivals Nantes, who are two points behind and hungry for victory. Les Rouge et Bleu can count on some in-form individuals, notably Mikkel Lovkvist in goal, who has the second-best save percentage in the StarLigue this season (35.06%).
Chambéry have had their ups and downs so far this season, but the team from the Savoie region are in superb form ahead of their trip to Coubertin. Asier Antonio's men have won four and drawn one of their last five matches, moving up to sixth place in the table and closing in on the European places. The Savoyards are also one of only two teams this season to have held Nantes, Paris' main rival for the title, just two points shy in second.
After a turbulent summer, the team seems to be gaining momentum, relying on a rejuvenated and unpredictable squad. Chambéry can always count on their centre-half Lucas Vanègue, who has one of the best goal-to-shot ratios (excluding penalties) this season (63/90). The Savoyards know that they will have to play a big game to beat the table-topping Parisians who have beaten them the last five times the sides have met.
This match against Chambéry will be our Rouge et Bleus' fourth consecutive game at Coubertin, and it will once again be an opportunity for a great celebration in the stands. Supporters will also be able to enjoy the exceptional presence of Nikola Karabatic; our Rouge et Bleu legend will be available for an autograph and photo session, giving you the chance to enjoy a wonderful cance to connect. Don't hesitate, there are still tickets available!
This match between Paris and Chambéry will bring Matchday 12 to a close. The round began on Wednesday with Istres' victory over Cesson-Rennes (32-27), with the next action on Friday 28 November, when Nîmes and Chartres will host Dijon and Saint-Raphaël respectively. The evening will also feature two top-of-the-table clashes, with Montpellier looking to bounce back against Tremblay and the eagerly awaited clash between Limoges and Toulouse.
On Saturday evening, while Aix travel to Sélestat, Paris will be closely watching closest rivals Nantes as they travel to Dunkerque. A victory would see Gregory Cojean's men draw level - at least temporarily - with Les Rouge et Bleu.
