Egypt remains as unplayable as ever in the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations. In Kigali, the Pharaohs secured their fourth victory in as many matches in the competition, comfortably defeating Nigeria in their final match of the main round (48-22). Yahia Omar, who was partly rested in anticipation of a possible qualification for the semi-finals, scored one goal and provided one assist during the match.
Now officially qualified for the semi-finals, which will take place on 29 January, Egypt will find out who their opponent will be this evening, after the Group 2 matches. It will be either Cape Verde, Tunisia or Morocco. After an ideal start to the tournament, Juan Carlos Pastor's men are more ambitious than ever to win a fourth consecutive CAN, which would be their 10th continental title.
