After a satisfactory performance in the top flight last season, finishing tenth in the standings, Toulouse will first and foremost be looking to secure their place in Ligue 1 again this year. However, Les Violets could well end up with loftier ambitions following a successful start to the season: two wins, including an opening-day victory in Nice (0-1) a home win over Brest at the Stadium (2-0) last time out. Toulouse will be on home turf once again this weekend, looking to cause serious problems for Les Rouge et Bleu.
For their part, Paris Saint-Germain have also had a successful start to the season. After winning their first title of the season, the European Super Cup against Tottenham (2-2, 4-3 on penalties) in Italy, Luis Enrique's team showed their strength by winning away to Nantes (0-1) and then against Angers (1-0) on their return to the Parc des Princes. Ahead of Saturday's match, both Toulouse and Paris are yet to concede a goal so far this season.
3– Toulouse have won their last three top-flight matches and are in with a chance of starting a Ligue 1 season with three consecutive victories for the first time in fifteen years, having last achieved the feat back in the 2010-2011 season.
5 – Paris have not lost any of their last five matches in Toulouse in Ligue 1 (four wins, one draw) and could equal their best-ever run at TéFéCé on Saturday (six matches without defeat between 2010 and 2016).
16 – Toulouse have scored in 16 of their last 17 home games in Ligue 1, the exception being on 15 February 2025 against... Paris Saint-Germain (0-1).
41 – With 41, Vitinha is the player who has made the most passes breaking at least one line since the start of the Ligue 1 season.
Carles Martínez Novell and his team are expected to turn out against the Parisians in a 5-2-3 formation, with France youth international Guillaume Restes expected to start in goal. A product of the Toulouse youth academy, the 'keeper has already established himself as one of the Spanish coach's key players. In defence, American international Mark McKenzie is the boss of the backline, alongside Charlie Cresswell. The third starting spot in central defence is likely to be contested between the experienced Rasmus Nicolaisen (28) and the promising Jaydee Canvot (19).
On the right side of the defence, French World Cup winner Djibril Sidibé is the favourite to start. The former France man was even handed the captain's armband last week and has a head start over his rival, Warren Kamanzi, for the position. On the opposite side, promising 19-year-old Dayann Methalie has seized his opportunity in recent weeks and could be selected to start against Paris. Norwegian international Aron Dønnum remains a plausible option, but the former Standard Liège player has a more attacking profile.
In midfield, Cristian Cásseres Jr is an integral part of Toulouse's backbone. The Venezuelan international is expected to be joined by new signing Mario Sauer, who is already highly regarded by the Violets' coaching staff, while Niklas Schmidt will be absent due to injury. The very young Alexis Vossah (17) could take his place on the bench. In attack, there is uncertainty as to who will start on the right wing. Aron Dønnum is still the favourite, but his place is under threat from France U21 star Noah Edjouma (19).
On the left wing, however, the die seems to be cast, with Yann Gboho is likely to benefit. The Toulouse No. 10 is the real spearhead of Les Violets' attack, even though Frank Magri came on for the playmaker last week and scored both goals in his side's victory over Brest. The Cameroonian international is therefore likely to be preferred to young Santiago Hidalgo (20), who arrived in Haute-Garonne this summer from CA Independiente.
