The people of Paris were dreaming of it, and Luis Enrique and his players made it happen. On Saturday evening at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest, the capital club achieved a ‘back-to-back’ by winning a second consecutive Champions League title, further cementing their place in the history of European football.
After emerging victorious from an intense battle on the pitch against the Gunners (1-1, 4-3 on penalties), the Parisians were ready to celebrate. Still riding the wave of euphoria from this latest European triumph, the double European champions immediately invited their supporters to join them this Sunday afternoon for a grand celebration planned at the Champ-de-Mars, before heading to the Parc des Princes where they were awaited as heroes.
At 8 pm, the artist Big Ali, accompanied by his DJ, kicked off the big Parisian party. This was followed by a performance from Fally Ipupa, to “get the whole of Paris dancing”, before numerous Paris Saint-Germain legends came out to greet the crowd: from Éric Rabesandratana to Javier Pastore, as well as Amara Simba, Guillaume Hoarau and Amara Diané.
It was then SDM's turn, a passionate Parisian supporter and an iconic figure on the region’s music scene, to turn up the heat at the Parc des Princes.
The long-awaited moment then arrived with the players' entrance, each making their appearance to a standing ovation. The emotion rose a notch when President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and captain Marquinhos took turns on the microphone, delivering speeches full of emotion, which were clearly much appreciated by the crowd and the entire Parisian squad.
The trophy presentation, the highlight of the evening, sparked a fresh wave of excitement before giving way to a lap of honour full of symbolism. Between the bond with the fans, gratitude and collective pride, the moment encapsulated the scale of the event. On Sunday evening, the Parc des Princes was not just a stadium: it became the true epicentre of a club, a city and a Rouge et Bleu passion shared by an army of supporters!
