“As is always the case against Montpellier, it was a real battle. We struggled in the first half, especially against their goalkeeper. He put in a brilliant performance. We stayed focused, showed incredible team spirit, and that’s also why we’re lifting this trophy tonight. I think we’ve also prepared very well; we’ve played some good matches but we’ve ironed out a few issues. I’m proud of my lads today – we’ve kept up our momentum, and our team spirit is extraordinary.”
“It was tough, but we never gave up. We stayed calm and confident in our abilities. Our defence was incredible. We stayed focused to win the Trophée des Champions. It’s my first Trophée des Champions, the second trophy of my career overall; I’m very happy, and we’re going to carry on like this. We’ve worked hard to play matches like this; it’s always tough after pre-season, but we’ve shown that we’re ready.”
