With this latest win against the club from Fontenay-le-Comte (0–4), Paris Saint-Germain now boast 50 victories in all competitions in 2025, the highest total ever achieved by a Ligue 1 team in history. This emphatic success was secured thanks to four more goals, allowing the club from the capital to record its 22nd match of 2025 (across all competitions) with at least four goals scored, matching the club's highest total in a calendar year (also 22 in 2017).
This victory also saw the Rouge et Bleu qualify for the Round of 32 of the Coupe de France, a competition that has traditionally been kind to the Parisians. Indeed, Paris remain the only current Ligue 1 side never to have been eliminated at the Round of 64 stage of the Coupe de France in the 21st century, their last defeat at this stage dating back to… 1990, 35 years ago.
A key figure in the victory, Ousmane Dembélé, captain for the night against the Vendée side, scored one goal and provided one assist on the Beaujoire pitch. The French international has now been involved in 75 goals since joining Paris Saint-Germain in August 2023 (45 goals, 30 assists).
Scoring a brace against Fontenay, Gonçalo Ramos now has no fewer than 9 goals for Paris this season, making him the club’s current top scorer since the start of the 2025–2026 campaign.
Finally, the third Parisian attacker named in the starting line-up also stood out. Désiré Doué opened the scoring and netted his 5th goal in the Coupe de France with the Rouge et Bleu. The good run continues for Paris’s number 14, who has now been involved in at least one goal in each of his last six matches in the competition.
