After a difficult start to the season with three consecutive defeats in four games, SB29 is doing better. The Ty-Zefs first staged a comeback on their home turf against Nice (4-1), before following up with a win in Angers (0-2). Since then, the Finistère side has drawn twice: against Nantes (0-0) and Lorient (3-3). Although they are now unbeaten in four matches, Brest remain stuck in 12th place in the table and will be looking to pick up more points at home.
For its part, Paris Saint-Germain is on a similar run to its next opponent, with Les Rouge et Bleu coming off two consecutive draws in the league, away to Lille (1-1) and then at home to Strasbourg (3-3). After their resounding victory over Leverkusen in midweek (2-7), the capital club will be looking to build on that result on Saturday in Brittany, with the aim of putting pressure on their rivals.
7 – Ousmane Dembélé has scored seven goals against Brest in all competitions, his joint-highest tally against any opponent in his career alongside Monaco.
17 – Since the start of the 2023–2024 season, Stade Brestois 29 have kept 17 clean sheets at home in Ligue 1, the second-highest total in the top flight behind Nice (18).
32 – Paris Saint-Germain have not lost any of their last 32 matches against Brest in all competitions (24 wins, 8 draws). Paris' last defeat against Les Ty-Zefs dates back to 26th January 1985 in Ligue 1.
Éric Roy and his team could start against Paris with a 4-2-3-1 formation. Former Monaco player Radoslaw Majecki has been named first-choice goalkeeper. The Polish international will be able to rely on his captain Brendan Chardonnet, who remains an undisputed presence in defence. Alongside him, Soumaïla Coulibaly is the favourite to complete the central defensive pairing, ahead of Junior Diaz and Julien Le Cardinal.
On the right side of defence, former Strasbourg player Kenny Lala is the unanimous choice. One of the key players in Brest's starting eleven, he seems to be preferred to young Ivorian international Luck Zogbé. The same goes for the opposite side, where French U21 international Bradley Locko will start in place of Daouda Guindo.
In midfield, the duo of Hugo Magnetti and Joris Chotard stands out. The former provides a link between the defence and the Breton attack, while the latter has brought greater defensive stability since his arrival this summer from Montpellier. Despite the signing of former French U21 captain Lucas Tousart, the Finistère side's midfield line-up is unlikely to be shaken up against the Parisians.
Further up the pitch, Kamory Doumbia is expected to play a leading role. The Malian international continues to grow in stature this season within the Ty-Zefs squad, and he will be able to count on the indispensable Romain Del Castillo on his right. The OL-trained striker, who already has four goals and two assists in seven Ligue 1 appearances this season, will be one of the Breton side's main assets.
As for Brest's left wing, it should be covered by former Parisian Junior Dina Ebimbe, who will be returning to his academy club. Having arrived this summer from Frankfurt, the French midfielder already seems to be settling in well with his new team, as evidenced by his first goal for Brest last weekend. Pathé Mboup, signed this summer after an impressive season in Ligue 2 with Pau, could then make an appearance during the game.
The versatile Senegalese international prospect is equally capable of playing on the right or left side of the attack. Finally, the centre-forward role will obviously be entrusted to Ludovic Ajorque, who has returned to the forefront in recent weeks. With five goals in eight matches this season, the former Strasbourg man will be one of Brest's biggest threats. With Mama Baldé out due to injury, Rémy Labeau-Lascary could lend a hand to the French striker during the match.
