Ruiz's Spain clinches late win over Portugal

Fabián Ruiz's Spain beat a Portugal side featuring Nuno Mendes, Vitinha and João Neves 1–0 at Arlington's AT&T Stadium yesterday in the last 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Mendes, Vitinha and Neves were all named in Portugal's starting XI, while Ruiz came off the bench late in the game for La Roja.
