Paris Saint-Germain Handball is paying tribute to a player who played a pivotal role in clinching the club’s first-ever piece of silverware - the Coupe de France - won against Aix (28–21) in 2007. Cédric Sorhaindo played 160 matches for the capital club, distinguishing himself through his power and exceptional finishing ability (405 goals across all competitions, an 88% shooting success rate in the league over five full seasons).
The club would also like to express its admiration for the longevity of a player with an impressive list of honours, which includes no fewer than 61 career titles, including three Champions League trophies. The pivot also made his mark on the history of the French national handball team, with 220 caps between 2005 and 2020, winning the World Championship four times (2009, 2011, 2015 and 2017), the European Championship twice (2010, 2014) and a gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics. Appointed captain between 2017 and 2020, he scored 425 goals in the French national team jersey.
Everyone at Paris Saint-Germain would like to wish Cédric every success in his post-playing career. Our former player has been preparing for a career change for the past two years by undertaking coaching training in France.
