Stade Pierre de Coubertin
Overview
An indoor sports temple in the heart of Paris
Located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, just a stone’s throw from the Parc des Princes and the Bois de Boulogne, the Stade Pierre de Coubertin is a historic and modern arena fully dedicated to indoor sports. This versatile sports complex hosts a wide range of disciplines throughout the year: handball, basketball, volleyball, fencing, martial arts, gymnastics, and many more.
Its flexible configuration allows it to accommodate up to 4,200 spectators in an intimate and electric atmosphere—perfect for inspiring athletes and thrilling fans. It has been home to Paris Saint-Germain Handball since the 2012–2013 season.
A rich history across generations
Inaugurated in 1937 for the World’s Fair, the Stade Pierre de Coubertin is named after the founder of the modern Olympic Games. Originally a training venue for Olympic disciplines, it became a key competition hall in the 1950s.
Over the decades, it has welcomed generations of athletes—from judo world champions to volleyball stars and world-class fencers. Renovated multiple times to meet the demands of elite sport and modern accessibility standards, it has retained its historic charm while embracing modernity.
Since 2012, Coubertin has been the stage for PSG Handball’s greatest triumphs, becoming a true fortress for the club. On match nights, the arena transforms into a red-and-blue cauldron, where the electric atmosphere fuels the spectacle.
A vibrant, accessible venue
Beyond elite competition, the Stade Pierre de Coubertin regularly hosts school, university, community, and cultural events. With top-tier facilities (weight room, press area, VIP boxes, concessions), it is a venue appreciated by both professionals and the general public.
It also plays a key role in training and scouting young athletes from the Paris region, with a strong local presence. Amateur clubs and associations frequently use the venue for training sessions and competitions.
