A product of the youth academy at IK Sävehof in Sweden, Sebastian Karlsson had his first experience abroad at the age of 17, playing for Spanish side Gades in 2012-2013. He then returned to his boyhood club for a ten-year spell, winning two league titles, a Swedish Cup and an EHF Challenge Cup.
The right-winger was voted into the Swedish league's All Star Team in 2022 and 2023, before signing for Montpellier Handball.
Sebastian Karlsson and his national team won the bronze medal at the 2024 European Championships in Germany.
