Born in Calais on 6 November 2001, Lucas Chevalier began playing football at Sporting Club Coquelles before joining AS Marck. He joined the LOSC academy in 2014 and made his National 2 debut at the age of 16, in August 2018. Loaned to Valenciennes in 2021-2022, he played 30 matches and was named Ligue 2’s goalkeeping er revelation of the season. Back in Lille, he became the club’s first-choice goalkeeper from 2022 onwards, putting in a string of impressive performances.
He enjoyed a spectacular 2024-2025 season, playing a decisive role in LOSC’s seventh-place finish in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League. At the end of the campaign, he was named Ligue 1’s best goalkeeper at the UNFP Trophies and became the youngest player ever nominated for the Yashchine Trophy. He joined Paris Saint-Germain on 8 August 2025. In his first match, he proved decisive in the UEFA Super Cup penalty shoot-out against Tottenham (2-2, 4-3 pens.), then did it again in January 2026 against Olympique de Marseille in the Trophée des Champions (2-2, 4-1 pens.).
He won the UEFA Champions League with the capital club on 30 May 2026 against Arsenal (1-1 a.e.t., 4-3 pens.). At international level, Lucas Chevalier has represented France at youth level since March 2017. Part of the senior France squad since November 2024, he made his senior debut in a 2026 World Cup qualifier against Azerbaijan on 30 November 2025, won by Les Bleus (3-1).
