“It’s always difficult to manage things after an international break. You have to control each player’s minutes, their condition, the journeys they’ve made… I think the best thing we got today was the result. In the first half, I think we lacked precision, but the result is good and these three points are very important for us. I’m looking for us to improve and for the team to play better, but right now getting results matters because we have to think about the next match. It will be a Champions League game, it was important for us to regain first place in the league. We need to keep improving.”
“It was a really tough match. From the outside, seeing 3–0, you might think it was a comfortable win, but that wasn’t the case at all. We were put under pressure, but we know that matches right after an international break are always tricky. So yes, I’m happy. We won 3–0, we kept a clean sheet and we stay top.
Everyone’s happy and it gives us something positive to build on. Scoring goals, not conceding, staying at the top of the table… We’ve already played a lot of matches since August and there are still many more to come, so we’ll recover properly to prepare for the next one, again and again.”
