The end of the regular season in the Arkema Première Ligue is fast approaching for the Paris Saint-Germain Women's team, who travelled to FC Fleury 91 on Saturday 25 April, for the penultimate matchday of the league. Just a few days after their win at the Campus against Saint-Étienne, the Rouge et Bleu were eager to continue their strong run of form. To do so, Paulo César was able to welcome back Tara Elimbi Gilbert and Sakina Karchaoui, both of whom immediately returned to the starting line-up.
It was the latter who created the first spark of the match. Found inside the box by Yaya, the club captain failed to keep her first-time effort on target (2'). From the opening minutes, Paris took control of the game and came close again when Romée Leuchter saw her attempt blocked by the opposition defence (12'). A few minutes later, the league’s top scorer was once again denied by former Paris goalkeeper Constance Picaud, determined to keep her side in the game (22'). Despite clear dominance throughout the first half, both teams went into the break level.
As play resumed, the Parisiennes stepped up the intensity in an attempt to break through Fleury’s compact defensive block. By committing more players forward, Paris Saint-Germain inevitably left more space at the back, allowing Fleury to become dangerous on the counter-attack. Emelyne Laurent nearly gave her side the lead with a powerful strike, but it was brilliantly pushed away at the last moment by an unfazed Mary Earps (56'). As the tempo began to drop in the second half, Paulo César made his first changes heading into the final quarter of an hour, bringing on Merveille Kanjinga and Rasheedat Ajibade in place of Anaïs Ebayilin and Romée Leuchter (73').
These tactical adjustments brought renewed energy, with the Nigerian international involved in the breakthrough shortly after, laying the ball off to Joe Echegini, who fired a clean strike from outside the box to beat Constance Picaud (0–1, 80'). Moments later, Paris confirmed their dominance and sealed the win through a lightning counter-attack, initiated by Tara Elimbi Gilbert and calmly finished by Sakina Karchaoui (0–2, 82'). Solid until the end, Paris claimed their 15th victory in 17 matches across all competitions in 2026, confirming their excellent form ahead of the play-offs.
Our Parisiennes will conclude their regular season in the Liqui Moly StarLigue on Wednesday 6 May 2026 at 17:00, when they host Strasbourg at the Campus.
