Rasheedat, welcome to Paris Saint-Germain. How do you feel about joining the club?
"I'm very excited. As soon as I heard that the club was interested, I couldn't wait to come. I'm very excited and looking forward to the start of the season."
You've been playing in Spain for a few years now. Is it a new challenge for you to come to France, to Paris?
"Yes, it's true. It's a new challenge. Especially coming to this prestigious club, with incredible talent, incredible players, incredible people. I think that here, I will have the opportunity to grow as a player and as a person, and that I have a lot to learn. And I believe that this is the ideal place to develop, learn and become the best version of myself."
What do you know about the Première Ligue?
"I've watched the French league, it's a league I follow very closely because some of my teammates in the national team also play here. So I know it's a physical and tactical league. It's an interesting league, and I can't wait to get started."
This season, the Women's Champions League will be back with a brand new format. What do you think about it?
"I think it's great, it's incredible. And I think this new format makes the game much better. Anything can happen and everyone has to fight to qualify. So it will raise the level of competition and see more teams involved."
You're joining your national team teammate Joe Echegini here. Will that help you fit in with the group?
"Yes, I think it will play a very important role in my quick integration into the team, because when you join a teammate who you've played a lot with in the national team, someone who comes from the same country, it helps you integrate quickly with the rest of the players too."
And how is your relationship with Joe?
"We know each other very well. I have the privilege of being the captain of our team, so I have to be in contact with everyone. That means I get to know each and every one of them. And Joe, I call her my sister because she's a unique person. She's an extraordinary and exceptional footballer, but also someone who is very pleasant to be around."
What impression do you have of Paris Saint-Germain so far?
"Paris is a unique club. I promise you, it's a team I've admired for a very long time. I follow men's and women's football here a lot. And it's a place where I've seen players develop and achieve great things. The club has performed well and achieved good results in competitions. Looking at the club's history, its values and its objectives, I think it's a very big club. I also think it's a place where many young players can grow and develop. In my eyes, it's a very big club."
And how is the Club seen in Nigeria?
"In Nigeria too, I think it's one of the most popular clubs. And of course, if you look at the success of the men's team, which won the Champions League, that's also a really important factor. We also had a player like Jay-Jay Okocha who played for the club. So it's huge for us, and I think Paris Saint-Germain has made a big impression on Nigeria thanks to Okocha, his amazing skills, and everything that comes with that. Okocha is a really important player for us, he's an icon and a legend that we don't take lightly. We don't mess around with him at all! So there's a strong connection between Paris and Nigeria, and I think most Nigerian players, both boys and girls, dream of playing for Paris Saint-Germain one day."
Finally, is there anything you would like to say to the Rouge et Bleu supporters?
"Yes. I want to tell them that I am delighted to be joining Paris Saint-Germain. I can't wait to get started, to make you proud and to enjoy the season. Ici c'est Paris!"
