Almost six months on from Paris's league-phase meeting with Bayern, Vincent Kompany's men are set to return to the Parc des Princes tomorrow night. Since earning a narrow 2-1 win in the French capital back in November, the Bavarians have shone not only on the European stage, racking up 11 wins from their 12 UCL matches this season, but also on the domestic stage, where they have just been crowned as the Bundesliga champions once more.
Meanwhile, Les Parisiens have also been on the up since that November encounter. After dispatching AS Monaco in the knockout phase play-offs, the capital club emerged victorious from its clashes with Chelsea (winning 8-2 on aggregate) and Liverpool (winning 4-0 on aggregate), meaning that Les Rouge et Bleu have come out on top in five of their last six Champions League matches and will be determined to keep that run going against Die Roten.
2 – Les Parisiens have scored at least twice in each of their last eight UEFA Champions League knockout games, thereby equalling the longest streak of this kind by any team in the competition's history, which was achieved by FC Barcelona between 2015 and 2016.
13 – Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been directly involved in 13 goals in the UCL this season, scoring eight and assisting in five. This total is just one fewer than the highest-ever G&A tally recorded by a Paris Saint-Germain player in a single European campaign (Ousmane Dembélé's 14 goal involvements from last season).
38 – With 38 goals scored each, Bayern and Paris jointly possess the two best attacks in this season's Champions League, while they are also the competition's top two sides when it comes to the number of goals that they have scored after a high ball recovery (six each).
Between the sticks, Vincent Kompany will naturally rely on his captain, Manuel Neuer. The 40-year-old Bayern legend, who has made 159 Champions League appearances for his side, still stands out as one of the world's best goalkeepers, while in front of him, France international Dayot Upamecano has established himself as the leader of the Bavarians' back line, forming a partnership with Jonathan Tah that will probably be used again tomorrow.
With Tah sitting above both Min-jae Kim and Hiroki Ito in the FCB pecking order, the former Bayer Leverkusen defender is expected to be accompanied by Konrad Laimer at left-back. The versatile Austria international, who has bagged three goals and 12 assists across all competitions this season, has looked comfortable in his position and could therefore be preferred to Alphonso Davies, while over on the opposite wing, Josip Stanišić's three goals and seven assists mean that he has become a regular starter for Bayern, and this should be the case again at the Parc.
In the middle of the park, the vital German duo of Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlović will almost certainly start in place of Leon Goretzka against Les Parisiens. As for Raphaël Guerreiro and Tom Bischof, both players are set to miss out due to injury, while the same goes for the prodigious Lennart Karl (nine goals and seven assists in 2025–2026) and the experienced Serge Gnabry (10 goals and 11 assists in 2025–2026), neither of whom will be able to occupy the playmaker role for their side tomorrow. This shouldn't be too much of an issue for Bayern, though, as they have been blessed since early April by the return of midfield maestro Jamal Musiala, who is likely to start at the Parc in order to link up with the Bavarian outfit's attack.
Barring any major surprises, that attack should be comprised of a well-established trio. While left winger Luis Díaz has notched up a whopping total of 25 goals and 20 assists in his debut season for FCB, Michael Olise continues to impress on the right flank, with 19 goals and 29 assists to his name in the current campaign. In the same vein as these two primary threats to the Paris rearguard, Harry Kane has enjoyed another exceptional season at centre-forward, with 53 goals and six assists under his belt in 2025–2026. Finally, with 10 goals and four assists this season, Senegal international Nicolas Jackson could constitute an additional attacking option if brought off the bench to provide even more firepower to his side's front line.
