An even more comprehensive pathway to excellence, from talent identification to professional career.
Last week, Paris Saint-Germain welcomed 14 players selected to join its new Women’s Pre-academy Centre. From the start of the 2026 academic year, they will benefit from comprehensive support combining sporting performance and academic success, drawing on the first-class facilities at the Campus PSG and the secondary school integrated into the Campus, enabling the young players to follow an educational pathway tailored to their dual aspirations.
Inspired by the model successfully implemented for the boys, the pre-academy will enable the club to identify, support and develop young talent at an even earlier stage, and to instil in them the standards, working methods and playing identity of Paris Saint-Germain.
It forms a further stepping stone in the training pathway offered by the Club, creating a stronger link between the PSG Association (which supports amateur football) and the Academy (open to players aged 15 and over), right up to the highest level. Ultimately, this initiative will strengthen the Club’s ability to integrate ever more players trained at the Club into its professional squad.
In the 2025–2026 season, Paris Saint-Germain has already proved itself to be the Arkema Première Ligue club that places the greatest trust in players from its Academy: 13 players trained at the club have featured in at least one match for the first team, and under-21 players have enjoyed twice as much playing time as their counterparts at the club’s direct rivals in the top three of the Arkema Première Ligue.
A project to nurture talent in the Île-de-France region
Against a backdrop of strong growth in women’s football, the pre-academy serves as a strategic tool for enhancing Paris Saint-Germain’s appeal and competitiveness.
Recruitment will draw on the pool of clubs in the Île-de-France region and on players from the PSG Association. By offering support at an earlier stage and providing one of the most successful development environments in Europe, the Club is strengthening its ability to identify and retain the region’s best talent in the long term.
A new milestone in Paris Saint-Germain’s long-standing commitment to women’s football
A pioneer in women’s football in France, Paris Saint-Germain established a women’s section as early as 1971, one year after the sport was officially recognised by the French Football Federation. In 2011, the club also took the strategic decision to turn its women’s team professional, thereby joining the select group of clubs committed to this approach.
Since then, Paris Saint-Germain has pursued its ambition to build a model of sustainable performance based on excellence in support, training and the trust placed in young players. This vision is fully embodied at the Campus PSG, where the professional women’s and men’s teams, as well as the players in training, thrive in the same environment of excellence.
