A few days after their 1–1 draw in Poland, the Netherlands, led by Romée Leuchter and Jackie Groenen, claimed their first win of the 2027 World Cup qualifying campaign, edging out the Republic of Ireland at home.

Starting the match, Romée Leuchter was substituted in the 65th minute, while Jackie Groenen came on at the same time.
