One thing is certain: our Parisians have been on a mission since the start of 2026. A week after their first setback of the year away to Pelister (34-34), Les Rouge et Bleu now seem to have regained their confidence. Already impressive away to Montpellier on Saturday evening (30-32), Stefan Madsen's men set the Stade Pierre de Coubertin alight on Wednesday.
Facing Magdeburg, who were still undefeated a week ago before their loss to Barcelona, Paris dominated from start to finish. It was a landmark match for the capital club, who were never troubled by the Germans. Proof of this was that the only time the two teams were level was... at throw-off! Taking an early two-goal lead thanks to strikes from Luc Steins and Sebastian Karlsson, the capital club maintained a comfortable lead throughout the match, thanks in particular to their steely mentality.
On Wednesday, it was the entire Rouge et Bleu team that stood out. On several occasions, the Parisians were able to increase the intensity during the Germans' weak moments to widen the gap. As a result, the capital club was already five points ahead after fifteen minutes of play (15': 8-3). Mentally strong, they were also able to bounce back during their own weak moments, putting six unanswered goals past the defending champions at the start of the second half, even though the latter had come back to within three lengths (38': 22-13).
Paris's dominance was reflected in Elohim Prandi's efficiency in front of goal. The France star scored eleven goals to provisionally take the lead in the Champions League scoring standings, two srtikes ahead of Mathias Gidsel. Kamil Syprzak also returned to his best form against one of his favourite opponents. Having already scored 11 times in the reverse fixture in September, our pivot was perfect this time around, converting all nine of his attempts.
The equation was simple for Paris. A victory would secure fourth place in the group, regardless of results elsewhere. That has now been achieved, and Stefan Madsen's men will play the return leg of the play-offs at Coubertin on 8 or 9 April. However, it is still too early to know who our Parisians will face, as that will be decided on Thursday evening after the Group A matches have concluded.
