Paris Saint-Germain have now scored in each of their last 24 league games, totalling 53 goals in that time. It's the longest run since the team scored in 44 successive Ligue 1 matches between August 2018 and September 2019.
Since the start of last season, Paris Saint-Germain have scored 16 goals from outside the box, four more than any other team in that time.
Ferran Torres continues to make an impression. The matchwinner against Brest, the Spanish forward has now scored six goals in his first five competitive appearances for the Club: he becomes the first player to do so since Zlatan Ibrahimović in 2012.
And he's not the only Parisian who's showing red-hot form in front of goal. Ousmane Dembélé's brilliant assist was his eighth in Ligue 1 since the start of last season. Only Adrien Thomasson (11) and Ludovic Ajorque (9) have done better in the French top flight in that time. The Parisian number 10 now has four assists in all competitions this season, the best tally in Europe's top five leagues.
Ferran Torres' goal brought three points to the Rouge et Bleu, but Matvey Safonov also had a big role. According to OPTA's Expected Goals, the Parisian goalkeeper "avoided" 1.62 goals against Brest, the best ratio from a Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper since Gianluigi Donnarumma against Nantes in February 2024 (2,00).
The capital club continued its impressive run against Stade Brestois 29. With their latest win, the Parisians have extended their unbeaten streak to 35 competitive games against the Bretons with 27 wins in that run. Brest's last win against Paris Saint-Germain dates back to January 1985.
