With their victory away to Manchester City on Wednesday evening, Paris Saint-Germain continued their impressive run on the European stage. The capital club are now unbeaten in 12 Champions League matches – a feat the Parisians had not achieved since the period between October 2012 and November 2013, when they went 13 matches without defeat in the competition.
And to say the least, away trips across the Channel seem to suit Les Rouge et Bleu particularly well! After Arsenal (1-0), Chelsea (3-0) and Liverpool (2-0), this time it was Manchester City (4-2) who fell to Paris Saint-Germain. The capital club has now recorded four consecutive away wins against English sides in the Champions League.
With four strikes on Wednesday evening, Luis Enrique’s men continue to rack up the goals on the continental stage. Having already scored ten goals after just two matches in this 2026-2027 UEFA Champions League campaign, the Parisians have now equalled the highest tally in the competition’s history at this stage of a single campaign.
An historic evening in more ways than one, as Paris Saint-Germain also managed to score three goals within just 32 minutes of play. A first for the capital club in a Champions League away fixture! For their part, the Citizens had never before conceded more than three goals at home in European competition. A statistic that further highlights the outstanding performance put in by Les Rouge et Bleu...
Once again proving decisive against Manchester City, Ousmane Dembélé continues to be in a league of his own in the Champions League. After scoring from a pass by Désiré Doué and then providing the assist for Maghnes Akliouche, the Parisian No.10 has been involved in at least one goal in each of his last six matches in the competition – racking up no fewer than nine goals and four assists over that period. Better still, the French international has found the net in each of those six matches – his longest scoring streak in the Champions League. What's more, no player after just two matches in a single campaign has ever done better than the three goals and three assists he has already bagged in the 2026–2027 edition of the competition.
But Ousmane Dembélé is not the only Parisian to have made his mark at the City of Manchester Stadium. After signing from AS Monaco in the summer, Maghnes Akliouche scored his very first Champions League goal for Paris Saint-Germain. This goal is a reward for the French international’s fine form; he has now been involved in at least one goal in each of his last four appearances in the competition (two goals, two assists).
