PSG For Communities and One Team fly off to the Genuine World Cup in Houston!
This international football tournament, the only one of its kind in the world, will bring together 40 teams from 24 different countries to celebrate diversity, unity and inclusion for young athletes with intellectual or neurodevelopmental disabilities (ASD, autism, etc.).
A worldwide event with a social mission
Created in 2024, the Genuine World Cup is much more than a competition: it is a strong symbol of openness and tolerance in sport. By taking part in this tournament for the first time, Paris Saint-Germain, through PSG For Communities, is affirming its desire to use football as a lever for equality and equal opportunities.
One Team: sporting excellence to promote inclusion
Launched in 2021, every year the One Team programme supports young people with autism by offering specialised guidance and regular training sessions.
This year, 14 young players aged 16 to 23 will proudly represent Paris Saint-Germain in this tournament. Supervised by four specialist coaches, they will portray a strong message on the international scene: that sport is a universal right, a vehicle for dignity and hope.
A trip full of emotion and new experiences
In addition to the competition itself, the players will be treated to an unforgettable trip:
• 28th July: NASA visit and Houston Astros match, a legendary baseball franchise
• 29th July: tournament begins, with a group phase promoting interaction and solidarity
• Match against the PSG Academy in Houston
• 1st August: closing ceremony
"Taking part in this tournament highlights, once again, our commitment to making football accessible to everyone. The club is extremely proud to join this tournament and the big names of world football and bring together 24 countries to promote this cause. We would like to offer the One Team squad our full support. This is more than just a team, it is a message of hope, respect, solidarity and diversity."
