2024–2025 was an unforgettable season in every way for Ousmane Dembélé. After winning an unprecedented quintuple – namely the Trophée des Champions, the Ligue 1 title, the Coupe de France, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup – alongside his teammates as well as racking up no fewer than 35 goals and 16 assists in 53 games across all competitions, the capital club's no. 10 has now seen his efforts over the past year rewarded with this prestigious prize for Europe's best male footballer.
Having already been named as Ligue 1's Player of the Season and top scorer, as the UEFA Champions League's Player of the Season and as the UEFA Super Cup's Player of the Match, the France international has now earned himself another individual honour by receiving 32.5% of the votes and thereby finishing ahead of FC Barcelona's Lamine Yamal (30%), Real Madrid CF's Kylian Mbappé (12.5%) and his Paris Saint-Germain teammate Achraf Hakimi (7%).
"We won almost every trophy possible, and the season that we had collectively means that the club's players deserve to win individual awards," explained the Vernon native in an interview with the monthly magazine. "I'm proud. It proves that I worked hard throughout the season and, going even further back, throughout all of these years to win individual trophies. I'm touched by it; my sacrifices and my performances have been recognised."
