Achraf Hakimi’s Morocco beat Scotland 1–0 on Saturday 20 June 2026 at Gillette Stadium in Boston, in their second group stage match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
A starter and captain for his national team, Achraf Hakimi saw his team take an early lead. It was a lightning-fast goal, with Diaz sending Saibari through on goal, and the Moroccan forward wasting no time in firing a rocket past Gunn (0–1, 2').
The score remained unchanged, despite a few chances for both sides, and the Atlas Lions secured an important victory that puts them in a strong position in the race for qualification, just a few days before they face Haiti on Matchday 3 of the group stage, on 25 June in Atlanta, at the same time as Brazil v Scotland.
