"I think we deserved this result. It was a very difficult match, very tight, especially in the first half. In the second half we created a lot of chances. It’s a shame because I think we could have scored at least one more goal, but that’s football and we have to accept it. The atmosphere inside the stadium tonight was incredible. I think we played as well as our supporters sang and that’s not easy! Now is the time to enjoy this win, do our recovery, recuperate and think about the return game in Liverpool.
"I have witnessed this connection between the team and the fans since I arrived in Paris and it is stronger than ever right now. We will head to Liverpool with the aim to win, like always. It will be tough because Anfield is a very difficult stadium to play in. But with this team, we will look to play the best way we can, and that means to attack all game!"
"I’m very happy because Liverpool had very few chances to score tonight. As a goalkeeper, I’m very happy, but I also know that the return game won’t necessarily be the same. Within the squad, we want to go to Liverpool to win and I think we’ll be ready for the battle.
"The atmosphere was incredible tonight. It really is special. The atmosphere is unique on these big Champions League nights. I looked at the fans before kick-off and it was magnificent. Our supporters give us a lot of energy to keep working hard, to give everything during the match."
