Born on 6 October 1991, Mathieu Grébille began playing handball in Martinique, where he had lived since the age of seven. A few years later, he joined Montpellier’s academy and made his professional debut for the club in 2009.
At Montpellier, he matured under Patrice Cannayer. Without always holding a leading role, he contributed to one of the club’s golden eras, helping the Hérault side win three French league titles, two Coupes de France, three Coupes de la Ligue and two Trophées des Champions between 2010 and 2012, the year he signed his first professional contract.
A former MHB captain, European champion in 2014 and world champion in 2015, Mathieu Grébille became a benchmark in his position and joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2020 after more than a decade with his formative club. With the capital club, the left-winger has continued to build his legacy, assembling one of the finest honours lists in French league history.
