Born on 15 April 1996, Frederik Ladefoged began playing handball at Holstebro in 2014, in his native Denmark. A genuine linchpin of his youth side, he became one of the league's breakout talents and signed for Aarhus, then Sonderjyske in 2019.
Over the following seasons, Frederik Ladefoged established himself as one of the best pivots in the league, and had his first experience abroad in 2022 when he joined HC Bergischer, in the Bundesliga. Having scored more than 240 goals in two seasons, he asserted himself in a new role, contributing both defensively and offensively. Ladefoged took a step up in 2024 by signing for Dinamo Bucarest, with whom he discovered the EHF Champions League. After two seasons in Romania, during which he also earned his first call-up to the Danish national team, he joins Paris Saint-Germain Handball in the summer of 2026.
