Safonov, Hakimi (C) (Mayulu, 64'), Zabarnyi, Pacho (Hernandez, 64'), Mendes (Digne, 64'), Dro, Vitinha, Ruiz, Ferran (Beraldo, 73'), Dembélé (Godts, 64'), Akliouche.
In a fantastic atmosphere, Dro had the first chance of the match, but was denied by Dominik Takác’s quick reflexes (3'). A quarter of an hour later, Nuno Mendes caught the eye with a superb strike that struck the far post and fell invitingly to Ousmane Dembélé, who controlled and rifled home to open the scoring (1–0, 17').
The Paris No.10 almost had a second a minute later (18'), but didn't have to wait long before completing his brace with a header (2–0, 23'). The France international then turned provider, delivering a perfect pass to Ferran, who kept his cool and scored his first European goal for Les Rouge et Bleu (3–0, 31')! Roles were then reversed as the two forwards linked up beautifully, only for Dembélé to see his shot saved onto the crossbar (34').
The visitors had no answers to the Parisian onslaught and there was more to come in the second half. Ferran bagged his second of the night after excellent lead up play from Maghnes Akliouche (4–0, 47’), before sweepig home for his hat-trick from a corner, delivered by… Ousmane Dembélé (5–0, 57’). Suleiman Camara did manage to reduce the deficit (5–1, 58'), but it was a mere consolation.
Luis Enrique rang the changes just after the hour mark but Paris continued to press for more and were rewarded minutes from the end when Fabián Ruiz put the seal on the big win (6–1, 87'). The final whistle was met by a huge roar from the Parisian faithful as the side from the French capital got their European campaign off to a perfect start.
The joy of Ferran and Ousmane Dembélé, who between then netted five of Paris' six goals, on a near-perfect night at the Parc des Princes!
