With their victory over Olympique Lyonnais on Monday evening, Paris Saint-Germain continued their impressive run of form. The capital club have now recorded eight consecutive wins across all competitions, their longest run since the period from January to March 2025, when the Parisians strung together no fewer than ten consecutive victories.
This latest victory also allows Luis Enrique to further cement his place in the club’s history. With 126 wins across all competitions as Paris Saint-Germain manager, the Spanish coach now joins Laurent Blanc as one of the managers with the most victories at the helm of Paris Saint-Germain. Another symbolic milestone for the Rouge et Bleu manager!
With two more goals scored against Lyon on Monday evening, Paris Saint-Germain continue to find the back of the net at the Parc des Princes. The capital club has now found the back of the net in each of its last 53 Ligue 1 home matches, equalling the longest such run in the top flight over the past 40 years. This feat has previously been achieved only by AS Monaco, who also scored in 53 consecutive home matches between September 2015 and April 2018.
And the Parisians can also count on the depth of their squad to make the difference. With eight goals scored by substitutes since the start of the Ligue 1 season – including the capital club’s last four league goals – the Rouge et Bleu boast the best tally amongst the teams in Europe’s top five leagues. A bench that really steps up!
Scoring his first goal of the season on Monday evening, Senny Mayulu also contributed to a statistic that is impressive to say the least. Set up perfectly by Mika Godts, the Parisian ‘Titi’ scored his very first goal from outside the box for Paris Saint-Germain, marking his 14th goal for the capital club. The long-range strike takes the Rouge et Bleu’s tally for goals scored from outside the box this season across all competitions to nine – the highest total amongst teams in the top five European leagues.
And to state the obvious, Mika Godts was also one of the key figures behind the evening's Parisian success. Having already provided the assist for Senny Mayulu’s opening goal, the Parisian striker then turned goalscorer himself, finishing off a pass from Quentin Ndjantou to seal his side’s victory over Les Gones and score his very first goal for Paris Saint-Germain. It was a brilliant evening for the Rouge et Bleu, who are continuing their fine run of form in front of their home crowd!
