What a crazy game! Paris Saint-Germain secured a draw at Rennes on Sunday, coming from behind to level the score, thanks in particular to their substitutes. Since the start of last season, the Parisian club has scored 31 goals through substitutes across all competitions.
A total that puts PSG well clear at the top of the table: at least six more goals than any other team over the same period.
This statistic illustrates the depth of the Parisian squad and the coaching staff’s ability to provide decisive solutions right up until the final whistle. Of particular note were the two assists from Fabian, who also came on as a substitute.
In his first appearance in a Parisian shirt, Ferran Torres didn’t take long to make his mark. The Spanish World Cup winner became the first player to score on his debut for Paris Saint-Germain, in all competitions, since Renato Sanches in August 2022 against Montpellier.
But Ferran went even further: with his brace at Rennes, he became only the third player in PSG’s history to score two goals on his debut, following Zlatan Ibrahimović in 2012 and Patrick Mboma in 1994.
And he’s taken it a step further! Of the three, he is the quickest to achieve such a feat, doing so in under 45 minutes (Zlatan took 90 minutes and Mboma 66 minutes).

A partnership that has a real World Cup feel to it! Fabian Ruiz provided both assists for Ferran against Rennes, a feat that marks a first in PSG’s recent history.
It is the first time since 1997 that two players of the same nationality (excluding French players) have achieved this feat in Parisian colours. Back then, it was Leonardo who provided two assists for Raí against Steaua Bucharest.
