Ibrahim Mbaye's Senegal qualified for the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations thanks to their victory over Sudan in the round of 16 on Saturday 3rd January 2026 in Tangier. The young Parisian scored the third goal for the Lions of Teranga, sealing the defending champions' qualification for the next round.

Coming on shortly before the final quarter of an hour, it took Ibrahim Mbaye just three minutes to find the back of the net and score his first goal of the tournament.
