Born on 10th July 2006 in São Paulo, Renato Bellucci Marin got his first taste of football in his native Brazil and soon made a name for himself thanks to his physique and his technical ability. In 2020, he would move with his family to Rome, Italy, in order to join AS Roma’s youth academy, before making his debut for the club at U17 level in a game against US Lecce in September 2022. During that 2022–2023 season, Marin made 15 appearances for the young Giallorossi and took home the Campionato Nazionale Under-17 after beating Inter Milan in the final, in addition to featuring three times for the club’s U18s.
On 7th January 2024, aged 17, Marin was named as a first-team substitute for the very first time in a league game at home to Atalanta BC, having become the first-choice keeper for Roma’s Primavera (U19) squad, with which he racked up 39 appearances and 13 clean sheets during the 2023–2024 campaign.
In September 2023, these performances – as well as his skill on the ball – earned him his first-ever call-up to Italy’s U19s, with whom he would go on to make a total of 12 appearances, including at the 2024 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, where his side would reach the semi-finals.
In 2024–2025, Marin featured in Claudio Ranieri’s first-team squad on 28 occasions – including the first six games of Roma’s UEFA Europa League campaign that year – as well as making 11 appearances for the aforementioned Primavera side.
Finally, Marin joined Paris Saint-Germain in July 2025 and made his professional debut for the club in a 4–0 win over Vendée Fontenay Foot in the Coupe de France in December that year. The young stopper would also appear twice in Ligue 1 in May 2026, firstly in a 2–2 draw with FC Lorient and then in a 2–0 win over Stade Brestois. In fact, it would be the 2025–2026 season – during which Marin was a regular feature for the capital club’s Espoirs – that confirmed his status as a hot prospect for the future and that also saw him add to his trophy collection by winning the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, the Trophée des Champions, the Ligue 1 title and the UEFA Champions League.
Paris Saint-Germain would like to wish Renato an excellent season with CD Nacional.
