Les Rouge et Bleu have begun 2026 in ideal fashion! This evening, the 30th edition of the Trophée des Champions was held at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Ardiya, Kuwait City, where, after a 2-2 draw against Olympique de Marseille, Luis Enrique's men won 4-1 on penalties to lift the trophy for a record 14th time in the club’s history. Thanks to this latest honour, Paris Saint-Germain has also extended a historic run by winning at least one title in each of the last 14 years, which is an unprecedented achievement in the European game.
Having got the better of Les Phocéens thanks to goals from Ousmane Dembélé and Gonçalo Ramos followed by four successful spot kicks, Les Parisiens claimed their 14th Trophée des Champions of the 18 in which they have participated – adding to those won in 1995, 1998, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024 – as well as bagging 12 of the last 13 editions of the competition.
Luis Enrique and his players have thereby earned the side its 53rd domestic trophy of all time as well as its 58th trophy in total, of which 39 have come since Qatar Sports Investments took over the club in 2011.
Thanks to Les Rouge et Bleu’s committed and ambitious approach to this match, Marquinhos has become the most decorated player in the competition’s history, having now won it 10 times, while he and his teammates helped their club to shine on the international stage and honoured their ever-loyal supporters, to whom this triumph is also dedicated.
After a record-breaking 2025 that was capped off with six trophies, Paris Saint-Germain has now got 2026 underway in the best possible manner with its first title of the year. The next few chapters of the capital club’s story promise to be action-packed, too, as they will involve the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France.
