Facing Montpellier Handball, winners of the 2026 Coupe de France, Stefan Madsen’s players delivered in their first competitive fixture of the season. Trailing at half-time in a closely contested match, Les Rouge et Bleu made the difference in the second half to secure the victory and lift their first trophy of the season.
With this latest victory, Paris Saint-Germain Handball further strengthen their position as the most successful club in the history of the Trophée des Champions. Having already won the competition five times, the Club now has six titles to its name, following previous triumphs in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019 and 2023.
This latest trophy follows a pre-season campaign that began in Paris on 22 July and included a fourth consecutive tour of Japan, followed by several preparation matches in Germany and Denmark. It is also the 27th trophy won by the Club since Paris Saint-Germain was acquired by QSI in the summer of 2012. During this period, the Parisians have now won 13 French league titles, five Coupes de France, three Coupes de la Ligue and six Trophées des Champions.
