Paris Saint-Germain once again wrote its name into the Ligue 1 history books at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis tonight, as Les Parisiens claimed this season’s league title with a 2-0 win over Racing Club de Lens, which was also their 11th away victory of 2025–2026, making for the highest number of wins earned on the road by any team in the division. Thanks to this result, Luis Enrique’s players added a fifth consecutive Ligue 1 trophy to their collection, which is an unprecedented achievement in the club’s history.
By combining its strength as a squad with the vitality of its young players, Paris Saint-Germain’s men’s team currently tops pretty much every table out there from the current season, as Les Rouge et Bleu boast not only the league’s best attack, with 73 goals scored by 18 different players – giving them an average of 2.21 goals scored per game – but also its best defence, with 17 clean sheets kept. They also hold the best away record in the division thanks to their aforementioned 11 wins on the road, as well as the second best home record courtesy of their 17 victories at the Parc des Princes.
As if to symbolise their collective power, five Paris Saint-Germain players were named in the UNFP’s Ligue 1 Team of the Season on Monday night, while the fact that the average age of Les Parisiens’ starting XIs this season is exactly 24 years old – the youngest that it has ever been in the French top flight – is a testament to the club’s future-orientated project. In the same vein, six academy players, namely David Boly, Mathis Jangeal, Dimitri Lucea, Pierre Mounguengue, Quentin Ndjantou and Noah Nsoki, have made their professional debuts for Paris in 2025–2026.
Led by Luis Enrique, who took charge of his 100th Paris Saint-Germain match against Brest last Sunday, Les Parisiens have enjoyed an average of 69.4% possession this season, which is the highest percentage of its kind not only in Europe’s top five leagues across 2025–2026 but also in Ligue 1 across the last 20 years. Meanwhile, by adding a 14th French league title to the ones earned in 1986, 1994, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, the capital club’s men’s team now has a total of 59 trophies in its cabinet, with 41 of those coming after the arrival of Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) in 2011. Since then, Les Rouge et Bleu have achieved the exceptional feat of finishing top of the Ligue 1 table in 12 of the competition’s last 15 editions.
This is also the fourth honour of 2025–2026 for PSG – France’s most decorated football club of all time – following on from the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Intercontinental Cup and the Trophée des Champions, the latter of which came thanks to a 4-1 penalty-shootout win over Olympique de Marseille after a 2-2 draw in Kuwait City on 8th January. Now, having reached their second consecutive UEFA Champions League final, Luis Enrique’s men will look to create yet more history against Arsenal in Budapest on 30th May.
