Melia Bourdoncle becomes the first player to join Purdue University through the new sporting partnership with Paris Saint-Germain

Women's football
Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce that Melia Bourdoncle has signed her first development agreement with Purdue.

Born on 24 February 2007 in Villefranche-de-Rouergue (Aveyron), Melia began playing at the age of five with FC Toulonjacois, where she was coached by her father. She then joined Rodez Aveyron Football in 2019 before moving to the Centre of Excellence in Castelmaurou in 2022. A year later, she entered the Paris Saint-Germain Youth Academy.

During the 2023–2024 season, she took part in her first training sessions with the U19 team and was part of the squad that won the league title in their age category.

Melia has represented her country with four caps and one goal for France’s U16s, along with three appearances at U17 level. In September 2024, she earned her first call-up to the U19 national squad for their training camp at Clairefontaine.

As part of a unique programme established by Paris Saint-Germain, Melia will join Purdue University, Indiana, USA, for the upcoming season. This will allow her to combine her academic pursuits with her continued football development, reinforcing Paris Saint-Germain’s commitment to supporting young players on and off the field and highlighting the Club’s presence in North America.

Paris Saint-Germain congratulates Melia and wishes him all the best in his sporting and personal development.

“I’m very proud to sign this agreement with Purdue. Going to the USA is a unique chance to improve both as a player and as a student. I’m looking forward to this new challenge.”
