Abdelrahman Abdou signs for Paris Saint-Germain
Abdelrahman Abdou: a choice reinforcement
Abdelrahman Abdou, 29, will play at left-back and arrives from Egyptian club Al-Ahly. The Egyptian international has taken part in competitions such as the Handball World Cup, the African Nations Championship and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, as well as the IHF Club World Championship with Al-Ahly.
Abdelrahman Abdou is a versatile player, capable of both attacking power and effective defending. His balanced profile makes him an invaluable asset to the team, and his sense of the game and ability to project himself quickly into attacking and defensive situations make him a complete and determined player.
The arrival will also mark the reunion between the left-back and coach Stefan Madsen, who is currently in charge of Al-Ahly. He will also be reunited with his Egypt team-mate, right-back Omar Yahia.
We are delighted to welcome Abdelrahman Abdou for the 2025-2026 season. We were looking for a player who could contribute both in attack and defence. Abdelrahman's arrival will be facilitated by the ties he has already forged with his future coach, Stefan Madsen, which will enable him to integrate quickly and smoothly into our team.
I'm very happy to be joining Paris Saint-Germain Handball. It's an honour to be able to play for such a high-level club, and I'm particularly excited to be reunited with my coach, with whom I previously worked at Al-Ahly. I can't wait to take part in this new adventure and contribute to PSG's success.

About Paris Saint-Germain Handball
Founded in 1970, Paris Saint-Germain is the most successful club and sports franchise in France and one of the best clubs on the European stage. Owned by Qatar Sports Investment (QSI) since 2011, the club has achieved spectacular results on and off the pitch. Led by its first team, Paris Saint-Germain is an all-round, forward-thinking club with teams in esports, judo, women's football and handball.
Since its takeover by QSI in 2012, the handball section has become one of the top teams in European handball, winning 23 domestic trophies and qualifying for the Final4 of the EHF Champions League six times in eight seasons. Over the years, the team has included some of the best players in the world, including Mikkel Hansen, Luc Abalo, Thierry Omeyer, Daniel Narcisse and the Karabatic brothers, and has strengthened its squad by developing young talent from its youth academy. This strategy has led to new records being set, such as the perfect season in the league in 2021-2022, with thirty wins in as many matches.
Beyond the sporting aspect, the whole of Paris Saint-Germain is committed to creating a positive social impact through PSG For Communities, with the intention of allocating funds and proposing initiatives dedicated to empowering disadvantaged young people.
