“We’ve kept a third clean sheet, which is great. I think the goal was a reward for everything the girls put in on the pitch, from start to finish. Even though there was that incident with the red card, the girls stayed focused and stuck together. They showed that they believed right to the end that they could get the win and they snatched it with Merveille’s superb goal.
I’m very happy and very proud of all the players who went out and got the result, it will be very important for what lies ahead. It shows that the team is strong, that all the players on the pitch have a winning mentality. We secured this victory thanks to the squad, thanks to the collective effort, and they've been rewarded by all of this.”
“It was a tough match. It went right down to the wire! The important thing was to score and secure the three points, and that’s what we did tonight, even if it came at the very last moment. The win is what matters and it allows us to keep up our good run of form. We’d also set ourselves the target of not conceding a goal, and we managed to do that. We’d practised this sort of scenario during the week, even though we hadn’t planned on being a player down. We’d worked on this type of scenario where we had to go and score a goal in the last five minutes, and it paid off.
Coming on? I’m really pleased to be back in competitive action. Coming on in a match like this, especially when we were down to ten against eleven, is a bit tricky but I was well supported. My team-mates did the hard work on the flanks, and we went out and secured the win”
