“It was very important to come away with a point from the draw in Madrid. That result, and the fact that we played well, has given us a lot more confidence. I can sense the players are confident; we hope to reproduce the same level of performance we showed against Real Madrid. What we must avoid is conceding a goal in the opening minutes. From there, we need to put on a performance that gets the crowd behind us and secure those three points in front of our home fans.
"Compared to last season, Leuven have changed their manager, and they have a few new players. But they’re still a team whose style of play is quite similar to last season’s; they’re very solid defensively and very physical. We’ve prepared well. Last season they were a team that defended very strongly against us. We’ll try to find ways through that defensive block to be effective and score goals.”
“We know that every match is both important and difficult. We’re expecting another tough game, with plenty of one-on-one battles and a lot of intensity. We’ll make sure we put in what it takes to win this match.
"Beyond the one-on-one battles, we know they’re a team that performs well in transition too. We’re expecting a big match. Personally, I’m feeling good. I’m feeling confident. That said, I know I can always do better. We’re working hard and I hope to keep this momentum going.
"Our aim in the Women’s Champions League is to do better than last season. We picked up our first point against Real Madrid; now we want to take all three points.”
